Affiliate Professor, Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, McGill University, Montreal, Canada
Adjunct Professor, Department of Physics, Université de Montréal, Montreal, Canada
Dr Bourqui has been an active researcher in the area of atmospheric sciences since 1997. He completed his Ph.D. thesis at the ETHZ, Switzerland, in 2001. He then spent four years in post-doctoral fellowships at the University of Reading, UK, and at the ETHZ. From 2005 to 2012, he was a Professor in the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, jointly with the Department of Chemistry, at McGill University, Canada. He then moved to Zurich, Switzerland, where he opened his consulting firm in 2013. He has published over twenty research articles in highly respected, peer-reviewed scientific journals, and has provided over sixty scientific contributions at international scientific conferences. He has taught over ten university-level semester courses. Dr Bourqui is an expert in atmospheric dynamics and chemistry, climate change, the numerical modelling of the atmosphere at both global and regional scales, the analysis of satellite and other data, and in inversion techniques.
